Iteire Calls For Mounting Of Checkpoints In Isoko North As Robbers Attack Bullion Van St Otor-Owhe

Isoko North Council Chairman, Deacon Christian Iteire has called on the Nigerian Police Force to mount checkpoints at strategic places in the Local Government Area in order to reduce crime on the roads.

Iteire made the call when he paid a prompt visit to the scene of the ambushed of a bullion van by suspected robbers at Otor-Owhe town in Isoko North Local Government Area on Thursday, January 27, 2022

According to him, “the mounting of checkpoint at strategic places, especially on the Ughelli-Isoko-Asaba highway would help in curbing crime and lawlessness”.

The bullion van attacked it was gathered lasted several minutes with the robbers overpowering the security personnel who sustained gun injuries.

The Chief Executive Officer of Isoko North, Iteire also urged the Nigerian Police Force to do a serious and proper investigation into the bullion van attack, saying that, “obviously, certain persons provided the robbers the information before they attacked the bullion van”

“I am calling on the officers of the Nigeria Police Force as a matter of urgency to handle the robbery issue with quick investigations”

“I wish to appeal to the Federal Government of Nigeria to increase the numbers of bullion van security personnel in order to prevent such things never to happen again”, Iteire added.
